This year, we completed the roof tiles of the zendo (meditation hall) at Tenpyozan. 133 people donated to inscribe a roof tile and together raised $12,600 for Tenpyozan. Each donation is so much more than a charitable gift. Each represents the many faces and stories of our sangha members, and, as such, reflects their years of sincere effort and leadership in developing Soto Zen Buddhism throughout the West. All roof tiles, with the names of sangha families, will protect the Zendo and all people under the roof from harsh sun in the summer and rain in the winter in Lake County for coming decades.
Below you'll find all of the tiles that were inscribed. Thank you again from all of us at Tenpyozan!
